Job Posting: Executive Director
The Abbotsford Restorative Justice and Advocacy Association (ARJAA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to repairing harm, restoring relationships, and rebuilding community through restorative practices. For nearly 25 years, ARJAA has provided community justice services in Abbotsford, working closely with the City of Abbotsford, AbbyPD, the School District, and local community organizations. Our programs support youth, adults, schools, and vulnerable members of our community.
We are seeking a relational, passionate, and strategic Executive Director to lead the organization. Reporting to the Board of Directors, this role is responsible for overall management, including governance, administration, finances, staff and volunteers, community partnerships, fund development, and grant writing. The ED will guide ARJAA’s growth while fostering strong, respectful relationships within and beyond the organization to uphold restorative justice values.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead overall organizational strategy and operations with a relational, collaborative approach.
Develop and implement fund development initiatives including grant writing and fundraising efforts.
Oversee finances, including budgets, compliance, and reporting.
Support, manage, and inspire staff and volunteers, promoting a culture of respect and accountability.
Build and maintain strong, trusting partnerships with community, government, and stakeholders.
Represent ARJAA publicly and advocate for restorative justice values.
Qualifications:
Leadership experience in a nonprofit or community sector.
Proven skills in fund development and grant writing.
Knowledge of restorative justice philosophy and practice.
Strong relational, financial, governance, and program management skills.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and partnership-building abilities.
Experience working collaboratively with a non-profit board of directors.
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Restorative Justice, Conflict Studies, Leadership, Management, or a related field. Additional education or training in leadership or nonprofit management is considered an asset.
